Mt. Pleasant Fire Department is a volunteer fire department in the small town of Mt. Pleasant, Utah  (Population of approximately 3000).   Currently, the fire department has 13 members. We all wear pagers that the Sanpete County Sheriff's Office activates to notify us of a fire. The town also has a large siren that can be set off to notify the firefighters when they are needed.

There are currently seven members who are Firefighter I certified, 10 members who are Haz-Mat Operations certified, 10 Wildland Red-Card Certified (Wildland FFII), one member who is certified both as Haz-Mat Technician and Firefighter II, and one member who is Advanced Wildand Firefighter (Squad Boss).

To become a member, one must pass a physical examination, and be a probationary firefighter for six months. Upon completetion of the first six months, the member will be voted on or off the department. If elected, the member must obtain at least one significant certification within the first year to remain on the department.
